Explanation
FPTA recently awarded RTS the annual Outstanding Public Transportation System Achievement award to recognize public transportation system achievement in efficiency and effectiveness.
RTS competed against several other transit agencies in the state for this distinguished honor. The award was given based on a wide array of both qualitative and quantitative data, including ridership, revenue, safety, operations, maintenance, marketing and community relations.
RTS also received a marketing award of excellence in Internal Employee Communications for its Transit Athlete Program. The wellness program was developed through an interdepartmental effort by Risk Management and non-management RTS employees in order to help promote a healthy lifestyle among RTS employees.
