Explanation
On October 4, 2012, the City's Purchasing Division solicited Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for Project Management and Quality Management Services for the RTS Maintenance, Operations and Administration Facility Project. The RFQ process was implemented in compliance with, and as required by, the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), Florida Statutes and City of Gainesville policies.
One (1) proposal was submitted by the deadline. The submission contained the technical proposal. An evaluation team consisting of City staff evaluated the qualifications and is recommending entering into a contract with Scherer Construction of North Florida, LLC, 2504 NW 71st Place, Gainesville, Florida 32653. The Scherer Construction PM/QM team has experience with multiple federal funded projects.
Fiscal Note
Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds are available for these services.
Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the City Manager or designee to negotiate and execute a contract with Scherer Construction of North Florida, LLC, subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality.
