GRU's Generation Transition Plan 2020-2022 (B)

Explanation

At the January 16, 2020 City Commission meeting, staff presented a plan for possible changes to its current generation model, including a proposal to enter a Network Services Agreement with Florida Power & Light.  Following staff's presentation, the Commission directed staff to schedule a workshop so they and the public could ask questions and receive additional information about the proposal.  The Commission then voted to hear the item again at their February 6, 2020 regular meeting.

Staff subsequently suggested to the Commission that we use the already scheduled joint budget workshop with the UAB on January 28, 2020 to hold the meeting on the proposal and the Commission was in agreement.

Recommendation:

Discuss the proposed transition plan with staff and the community and take any action deemed appropriate.
