Continuing Services Contracts for Citywide Sidewalk, Trails and Minor Roadway Construction (B)
This item is a request for the City Commission to approve the ranking of Construction firms, and to authorize contracts for citywide sidewalk, trails and minor roadway construction services.
Explanation
On January 28, 2020, the City’s Procurement Division solicited written statements of qualifications to provide citywide sidewalk, trails and minor roadway construction for minor projects (RFQ No. DOMX-200017-SG). Six (6) construction firms submitted statements on February 25, 2020.
This solicitation was broadcasted and notified 499 suppliers (including 12 supplemental suppliers), the solicitation received 20 plan holders, of which six providers submitted proposals by the deadline (2/25/2020). Evaluation of the written and technical submittals resulted in the qualifying of all six (6) of the construction firms that responded.
The evaluators ranked the firms as follows:
1. Charles Perry Partners Inc.
2. Scherer Construction
3. Hicks Seal Coating and Striping LLC.
4. BBI Construction Management Inc.
5. Blackwater Construction Services
6. TSI Disaster Recovery LLC.
Fiscal Note
Funding shall be available and identified as needed for the individual project accounts for which the Project Managers are assigned. Funds utilized could include the City’s Capital Improvement Plan capital projects accounts and Transportation Mobility Program Area accounts.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) accept the selection of the six top ranked firms in the order of ranking; and 2) authorize the City Manager or designee to execute all necessary contract documents with the six top ranked firms per the RFQ for citywide sidewalk, trails and minor roadway construction services, subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and leg...
