This item is a request to adopt a Resolution to grant a Construction and Maintenance Agreement to the Florida Department of Transportation Department of Transportation (FDOT) related to school zone improvements.
Explanation
FDOT proposes Financial Project Number (“FIN”) 444990-1-52-01, which shall include the replacement, installation, or construction of various signage, pavement markings, and/or flashing signs within various, identified school zones.
Fiscal Note
There is no capital fiscal impact with this request, as construction will be performed by FDOT. There may be a periodic maintenance cost (estimated to be less than $5,000 annually) related to operating and maintaining school zone flashers, pavement marking and signage as needed.
Recommendation
The City Commission adopt a Resolution authorizing the execution of the Construction and Maintenance Agreement with FDOT and authorize the City Manager to execute all necessary documents, subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality.
