Discussion of Street Side and Community Trash Receptacles (B)
Explanation
On February 2, 2021, Public Works Community Builders presented information on the placement and types of litter containers along the City’s right-of-ways. The Subcommittee requested to be presented with options to develop a policy relating to the placement and specifications of trash containers used by the City and the private sector in the right-of-way.
On March 3, 2021, Community Builders presented information about the placement of litter containers in the Downtown and Midtown areas as well as the need to expand the location of litter containers to other parts of the community. The Subcommittee requested that Community Builders return with a plan to reduce litter throughout the City.
This presentation will provide a two phase plan. First, it will place containers in high litter areas. Secondly, Community Builders will evaluate their effectiveness and return with recommendations.
