Interim Appointment for the City Manager (B)
Explanation
On September 13, 2021, City Manager Lee Feldman offered his resignation to the City Commission with an effective date of November 12th, 2021. As part of the acceptance of the resignation, the Commission asked staff to proceed with a recruitment process to enable the Commission to appoint an Interim City Manager. Staff was directed to seek interested internal and external candidates for the interim appointment. The Talent Acquisition staff communicated the Commission’s direction using both InsideGNV and GRUDaily to solicit interest internally and for the external posting, the position was offered through the City’s job posting platform used for all other hiring processes. Interested individuals were given until September 30th, 2021 to submit their letter of interest and resumes to the City.
As a result of this outreach, there were a total of 22 candidates that expressed interest in the appointment, of those 22 candidates, after screening for minimum qualifications, ten candidates and their information was delivered to the City Commission on October 6th, 2021 for consideration. The candidates who expressed interest included two current community builders and eight external parties, internal candidates are noted, those seeking consider are:

All candidate information was provided, in full, to the City Commission and is attached as backup to the agenda item.
Fiscal Note
The Fiscal cost of this is dependent upon the City Commission’s action and direction.
Recommendation
1) The City Commission discuss and select an individual as the Interim City Manager and take action as appropriate.
