Amended Resolution In Support of the City of Gainesville Being Certified a BEE CITY USA (B)

Explanation

On November 4, 2021 the City Commission adopted a resolution to support the City of Gainesville being certified as a Bee City USA by the Bee City USA organization. Upon review of the ordinance and in discussion with Bee City USA liaisons, staff determined that a critical component of the required resolution template provided by Bee City USA was not included in the resolution signed by the Mayor in November 2021. Thus staff have amended the resolution to meet the requirements of Bee City USA, and in doing so have created a partnership with the Florida Wildflower Foundation to serve as the agency with authority over the Gainesville Bee City committee. An non-binding MOU has been created between the Florida Wildflower Foundation and the City to acknowledge and approve of this partnership. The MOU and amended resolution outline the roles and responsibilities that the City and the Florida Wildflower Foundation will hold as related to this item.
