Business Improvement Grant Program Update (B)
Explanation
The Business Improvement Grant Program was initially recommended for approval by the GCRA Advisory Board to the City Commission on October 20, 2020. The City Commission received the recommendation, saw the presentation and approved the Program on November 5, 2020 (Legistar #200275).
Additionally, the City Commission asked for the GCRA Advisory Board to look at program guidelines and intentions concerning the historical building component during its August 5, 2021, City Commission review of the Historic Masonic LLC application. This meeting was held on October 19th with the Advisory Board, and due to delays in reappointing Board Members and the Commission reducing the GCRAAB Member count from 15 to nine, the GCRA Advisory Board Chair requested that the annual update (Legistar 210450) be presented for feedback to the new members of the GCRA Advisory Board, all being installed before the December 14, 2021, GCRA Special Meeting.
GCRA Staff will reintroduce the Program and review all applications received in FY21 and discuss potential areas for clarification and improvement.
