Explanation
The City of Gainesville adopted the budget for 2000/2001 fiscal year during the two-year budget cycle in July of 2000. Actual revenues for FY 2000/2001 are higher than projected and need to be appropriated to particular budget line items. Unspent fund balance from the previous year also needs to be appropriated.
On December 28, 2000, the Fifth Avenue Pleasant Street Redevelopment Advisory Board considered recommendations for appropriation of additional revenues as well as unspent funds from the administrative and current project budgets. The advisory board has recommended specific appropriations.
On January 3, 2001, the College Park University Heights Redevelopment Advisory Board considered recommendations for appropriation of additional revenues as well as unspent funds from the administrative and current project budgets. The advisory board has recommended specific appropriations. Staff's recommendation differed from the Advisory Board in the following way. Staff recommended $15,457.81 to Stringfellow, $20,000 to Coordinated Public Signage and $26,741.19 to Streetscape/Park Matching Fund project budget. The advisory board recommended that all the $62,217 be added to Streetscape/Park Matching Funds. That would leave them as the only district not funding unified sign construction this year, and also would provide no funds for Stringfellow interest payments.
On January 4, 2001, the Downtown Redevelopment Advisory Board considered recommendations for appropriation of additional revenues as well as unspent funds from the administrative and current project budgets. The advisory board has recommended specific appropriations.
On January 16, 2001, the CRA approved the DRAB recommendation to approve the allocation of $174.46 to Arlington Square Loan, $4,582.30 to Parking Management Agreement, $20,000 to Coordinated Public Signage, $10,000 to Main Street Streetscape Project, $10,000 to Marketing and $24,265.24 to Southeast 2nd Avenue Streetscape project budgets, and 2) requested that the City Commission also approve the amended 2000/2001 fiscal year budget.
On January 16, 2001, the CRA approved the Fifth Avenue Pleasant Street Advisory Board recommendation to approve the allocation of $8,000 to Coordinated Public Signage and $9,263 to Northwest 5th Avenue & Northwest 6th Street project budgets, and 2) requested that the City Commission also approve the amended 2000/2001 fiscal year budget.
On January 16, 2001, the CRA approved the College Park University Heights Advisory Board recommendation except that the CRA put the $20,000 in Working Capital Reserves, so the CRA's action was to: 1) approve the allocation of $15,476 to the Northwest17th Street Streetscape project budget; 2) $26,741 to the Streetscape/Park Matching Funds project budget; 3) $20,000 to Working Capital Reserves and; 4) request that the City Commission also approve the amended 2000/2001 fiscal year budget.
