Explanation
This project, part of the 1996 Road Improvement Program, is the reconstruction of NW 45th Avenue between 21st Terrace and 13th Street, and NW 19th Street between 39th and 45th Avenues, a total distance of approximately 6,605 feet or 1.25 miles. The Purchasing Division solicited bids from 74 vendors. Two responded with bids: O'Steen Brothers, Inc., provided the lowest responsive bid of $1,470,000.
Fiscal Note
Funds are available in the Capital Improvement Roadway construction accounts.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) award the contract for the reconstruction of NW 45th Avenue and 19th Street to O'Steen Brothers, Inc.; 2) authorize the City Manager or designee to execute the contract; and 3) authorize the issuance of a purchase order to O'Steen Brothers, Inc., in the amount of $1,470,000.
