Explanation

An authority governs the Gainesville-Alachua County Regional Airport with members appointed by the Gainesville City Commission, Alachua County Board of County Commissioners, and Governor of Florida.  In June, the County Commission requested a joint meeting with the City Commission to discuss the future of the Airport and in particular the governing structure of the Airport Authority.

 

Recommendation

The City Commission discuss the future of the Airport and the Governing structure of the Airport Authority with the County Commission and take any action deemed appropriate.
