Explanation

The contract dated January 17, 2004, and First Amendment dated October 8, 2004, with Group 5 & Associates, Inc. for Public Education and Outreach Campaign for Commercial Recycling and Waste Reduction expired on September 30, 2004. This firm has responded to the City's requests for services promptly and their services have been reliable and accurate.  

The Contract allows for three (3) one-year extensions.  This is the first request for an extension.

Fiscal Note

Funds are available in the Solid Waste Enterprise Fund.

Recommendation

The City Commission authorize the City Manager or designee to execute the First Extension to the contract with Group 5 & Associates, Inc. for Public Education and Outreach Campaign for Commercial Recycling and Waste Reduction, extending the term of the contract from October 1, 2004 to September 30, 2005.
