Explanation
On August 5, 2010, the City Commission adopted Resolution 100182 concerning acceptance of an FAA Grant for several Gainesville Regional Airport projects with the Federal Share to be estimated up to $2,244,794. On August 20, 2010, a Grant Agreement was offered to the Gainesville Regional Airport encompassing only two of the former projects (rehabilitation of an airfield electrical vault; and the rehabilitation of Taxiway C (plus or minus 2,300 LF x 50ft) in the amount of 1,427,834.
Due to the discrepancy in the approved City Resolution and the actual submitted FAA grant agreement offer, staff has determined that an amended Resolution is required.
Fiscal Note
No fiscal impact. Proceeds of this FAA Grant will go to the Gainesville Regional Airport for the purposes of completing the aforementioned projects.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) hear a brief presentation from staff and the Airport CEO; and, 2) adopt the amended Resolution approving FAA Grant Agreement offer in the amount of $1,427,834 for two projects and authorize the Mayor and City Attorney to execute said FAA Grant Agreement offer and the City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to impress the official seal of the City of Gainesville and to attest said execution.
