Maintenance Contract for Thomas Center Gardens Grounds (B)
Explanation
The Purchasing Division solicited bids on September 11, 2000 for the Annual Maintenance of the Thomas Center Grounds. Invitations to Bid were sent to 71 prospective bidders, with five attending the mandatory pre-bid conference. Three bid responses were received. Oasis Landscape Services, Inc. was low bid at an annual bid price of $25,752.
The contract will begin October 1, 2000 and expire September 30, 2003 with the provision of two one-year extensions.
Fiscal Note
Funds are available in the FY 2001 Recreation and Parks Department's Contractual Services Account.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) award the bid for a three-year period and approve the issuance of a purchase order each year of the three-year period to Oasis Landscape Services, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $25,752; and 2) authorize the City Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the City pending approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality and subject to final appropriation of funds.
