Title Old Gainesville Depot Building Historic Rehabilitation Explanation The University of Florida, Center for Construction and Environment (CCE) has obtained a grant from the Florida Department of State Grants-in-Aid Program for the purpose of planning and design work for the historic rehabilitation of the Old Gainesville Depot Building located at 201 S.E. Depot Avenue. The grant is in the amount of $15,993 with a match requirement of $16,300. The work resulting from this grant effort will be used to assist the City in rehabilitating the Depot Building. Fiscal Note Total cost of the project is $32,293. The approved grant will provide $15,593 and $16,300 is available in the Train Depot Building Acquisition Account (#302-800-M500-5190-6010) for the City's grant match. Recommendation The City Commission: 1) approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the University of Florida Center for Construction & Environment and the City; 2) authorize the City Manager to execute the MOU on behalf of the City, pending approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality; and 3) approve the City's match in the amount of $16,300.
