On May 29, 2012, the City was served with a Summons and Complaint filed by Rodrick and Deborah Thompson in the Circuit Court.  Rodrick Thompson alleges that he was involved in an automobile accident with a City vehicle on March 22, 2011 on SR 20, in Gainesville. Rodrick Thompson claims to have suffered bodily injury and resulting pain and suffering, disability, disfigurement, mental anguish, loss of capacity for the enjoyment of life, expense of hospitalization, medical and nursing care and treatment, loss of earnings, loss of ability to earn money and aggravation of a previously existing condition.   Plaintiff Deborah Thompson has filed a loss of consortium claim.  Mr. Thompson seeks money damages in excess of $15,000.00.
