Title
Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Service Development Grant Funds for the Campus Circulation Route (B)
Explanation
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) allocates service development grant funds for public transit systems each year. The Regional Transit System (RTS) is currently providing the new campus circulation route service known as University of Florida (UF) Circulator. This new route provides service from the College of Veterinary Medicine, the Brain Institute and seven parking garages on campus as well as the main parts of campus, such as Stadium Road, the Hub and Newell Drive. This route alleviates traffic congestion on campus, Archer Road and 16th Avenue by allowing students and employees to access all parts of campus. This service development grant will assist the University of Florida in funding this service. The grant program requires a 50% match.
Fiscal Note
The local share of the program is provided by the University of Florida.
