Sale of Surplus Property at 1116 NW 6th Place (B)
Explanation
On July 12, 2004, the City Commission approved the request to declare Tax Parcel # 13877 located at 1116 NW 6th Place as surplus, and authorized the City Manager to advertise and accept bids. At that same meeting, the City Commission also approved authorization for the City Manager to execute a Purchase and Sale Agreement for Tax Parcel 13877 to the adjacent property owner or the highest bidder; authorized the City Manager to prepare a Special Warranty Deed; and authorized the Mayor to approve and the Clerk to attest the Special Warranty Deed to convey the property to the party chosen by the Commission. At that time, the recommendation was amended so that the bid results would be brought back before the Commission so that the Commission might determine the best bid. The bids were opened on August 27, 2004 and the results are as follows: Richard Schackow bid $7,500, Fred Rowe Jr. bid $3,001, and Hong-Loan T. Ngo bid $1,001.
Fiscal Note
Expenses incurred (advertisements, appraisals, title searches, etc) will be paid from Public Works operating funds and will be reimbursed from the sale proceeds, with the remainder deposited into the Block Grant Fund.
Recommendation
The City Commission award the bid to the highest bidder, Richard Schackow.
