Bid Award for Purchase of Metals for the Duck Pond Project (B)
Explanation
This task of the Duck Pond project consists of the supply of labor and materials for the installation of aluminum railings and fences.
On May 6, 2004, the Purchasing Division solicited bids from 91 prospective bidders. Two (2) responses were received, one (1) response was deemed non-responsive, because in the proposal the vendor did not acknowledge receipt of, nor incorporate the requirements of, Addendum One, which included a material item (70 feet of guard rail) affecting the price for each bid. Gainesville Ironworks, Inc. was the lowest responsive bidder.
Fiscal Note
Funds are available in the Stormwater funded Capital Project accounts.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) approve the bid award to Gainesville Ironworks, Inc.; and 2) authorize the City Manager or designee to execute a contract with Gainesville Ironworks, Inc. in the amount of $41,830 and any other necessary documents.
