Nature Centers Commission Sign Policy Update (B)

Explanation

As part of the FY 2001/2002 work plan, the Nature Centers Commission proposed the development of a Signage Policy for the City of Gainesville's Nature Operations Division.  The Nature Centers Commission, in accordance with its work plan, has researched, drafted and approved a general sign policy for Nature Operations' nature parks and properties.  The Nature Centers Commission Board members and Nature Operations Staff spent over 146 hours on this project.  Furthermore, the Nature Centers Commission encourages this policy be utilized as a template by other City Departments and Advisory Boards.

Fiscal Note

Funds for the routine replacement of signs is budgeted as part of Nature Operations operating accounts.

Recommendation

City Commission hear a report by the Nature Centers Commission and take appropriate action.
