This is a request for the General Policy Committee to receive a report from the Working Food Project Team.

Explanation

Working Food Community Food Center is attempting to establish itself within the City as a community asset designed to facilitate the local food production economy.  The concept seeks to drive this through a focus on the components of: Kitchen, Commerce and Culture. A presentation has been provided to the Alachua County Board of County Commission.

Fiscal Note

The Working Food Community Food Center is seeking funds in the amount of $50,000 from both the City of Gainesville and Alachua County.

Recommendation

The General Policy Committee receive a report from the Working Project Team.
