2012 Solar Feed-in-Tariff Available Capacity (B)
Explanation
Staff presented and the City Commission approved 2013 Solar Feed-In-Tariff rates on October 18, 2012. During that presentation, Commissioners discussed the option of reassigning any excess capacity from 2012 should any projects cancel. Staff was asked to return to the City Commission in December to provide an update on cancellations and get policy direction in regard to reassigning this capacity to the 2013 offering. Should the Commission determine that the available 2012 capacity should be offered in 2013, staff would include it in the 2013 capacity offering planned for January.
Fiscal Note
The additional capacity would have an annual cost over 20 years which will be determined by the exact amount of additional capacity reassigned to 2013. Staff will have this figure available at the meeting.
Recommendation:
The City Commission 1.) receive a brief presentation from staff; and 2.) determine if excess capacity from 2012 shall be included in the 2013 offering.
