explanation
The City Commission at its meeting of May 24, 2004, authorized the City Attorney to draft and the Clerk to advertise an ordinance amending the Code of Ordinance relating to longevity pay.
CWA and MAP employees have converted to a common review date from the first full pay period in October to the first full pay period in January. It was not the intent to change the base rate for calculating longevity with moving the common review date or general increase date. The CWA contract was amended to deal with the issue. Now amendments to the ordinance are necessary to ensure that non-represented employees are treated the same as CWA employees.
