Enforcement Date for Permit Parking in the University Context Area (NB)
Explanation
The College Park University Height Redevelopment Advisory Board discussed the problems created by the October 1, 2004 enforcement date for permit parking within the University Context Area. Because most apartments are rented by the middle of August, the Board felt the October 1st date created a situation where those people who live in the area and have permits are often unable to find spaces near their residences. The Board felt that the date should be changed to September 1, 2004 to alleviate this problem.

Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) Request the City Manager change the permit parking enforcement date in the University Context Area from October 1, to September 15, every year; and 2) request that the City Commission and the College Park/University Heights Redevelopment Advisory Board look at this issue at the end of 2005 to see how this worked.
