Census 2000 Urban Area and Functional Classification Map (B)
Background
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) requires the Census 2000 Urban Area and Functional Classification Map (Map) be updated with each Census update. The Map for the Gainesville Urbanized Area was approved by the Metropolitan Transportation Planning Organization (MTPO) on June 12, 2003 and has been circulated to the FHWA for their approval. It now requires the signature of the Mayor of Gainesville and the Chairman of the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners.
Fiscal Note
There is no fiscal impact from this action.
Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the Mayor to sign, and the Clerk to attest, the Census 2000 Urban Area and Functional Classification Map of the Gainesville Urbanized Area.
