Title
Thomas Center Security System (B)
Explanation
In 1999, Lease In/Lease Out funds were designated for the replacement of the carpet on the first floor of the Thomas Center "A" Building. The work was completed on March 3, 2001, leaving a fund balance of $4,925. Concurrently, the security system that protects Building A has failed and will need to be replaced. Price quotes for this work were requested, and responses were obtained from two independent sources. The lowest quote was from Alarm Systems International, Inc. in the amount of $4,754.
Fiscal Note
Funds for the replacement of the security system in Thomas Center "A" are currently available in the Lease In/Lease Out account originally allocated for carpet replacement.
Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the City Manager to reallocate the remaining capital funds from the Thomas Center carpet replacement to Alarm Systems International, Inc. in the amount $4,754, for the upgrade and replacement of the security system in the Thomas Center.
