This is a request for City Commission Contingency funds from the Cotton Club to provide police and security service for the Second Annual Juneteenth Festival and Juried Art Show.

Explanation

The Cotton Club Museum and Cultural Center, Inc. is holding their Second Annual Juneteenth Festival and Juried Art Show on June 14th and 15th, 2008.  The Cotton Club is asking the City of Gainesville to partner with them to help cover the cost of police and security service necessary for the Juneteenth Festival.  A detailed festival budget is provided as back-up.

Fiscal Note

The Cotton Club Museum and Cultural Center, Inc. is requesting a total of $10,000 from the City Commission Contingency Fund.  The Fund balance as of May 8, 2008 was $63,845.

Recommendation

The City Commission consider the request for funds and take action as appropriate.
