Explanation
The College Park University Heights (CPUH) Redevelopment Advisory Board heard a presentation at their May meeting about improvements that the Public Works Department is planning for Southwest 2nd Avenue. The Board discussed the improvements in great detail and has made a recommendation regarding the proposal. Overall the Board supported the plan, as presented, with the understanding that the improvements now would allow for greater flexibility for future improvement. The CPUH Board views the Southwest 2nd Avenue as having great potential for redevelopment and wants to be sure that it can continue to grow and develop over time.
Public Works will present this item to the City Commission on May 23, 2005.

College Park University Heights Redevelopment Advisory Board to the CRA: Support the use of palm trees as the defining element for landscaping along SW 2nd Avenue and the construction of medians having minimal width in order to allow flexibility for future development along the corridor.
