Resolution for a Joint Participation Agreement for Block Grant Funds for Commuter Assistance Program (B)
Explanation
The City of Gainesville Regional Transit System (RTS) has requested a Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). This Agreement will provide a total of $45,000 as Gainesville's allocation for the Commuter Assistance Program in FY 2004-2005, which will be funded on a 50/50 matching basis between the FDOT and RTS. This JPA will support the continuation of the Commuter Assistance Program for Alachua County and surrounding counties to include development, implementation, operational, and/or capital costs. FDOT requires the governing board of each public transit system authorizing the acceptance of these funds to adopt a Resolution.
Fiscal Note
Funds in the amount of $45,000 to provide the local match are available in the RTS FY 04-05 operating budget.
Recommendation
The City Commission adopt the Resolution authorizing execution of Joint Participation Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation.
