explanation

The City Attorney recommended amending section 2-67 of the ordinance to clarify the mayor's source of authority for declaring emergencies, authorize the mayor pro-tem to act if the mayor is unavailable and clarify the penalties for violating provisions of emergency measures depending on the source of the declaration.

On September 27, 2004, the City Commission authorized the City Attorney to draft and the Clerk of the Commission to advertise the above proposed ordinance as recommended by the City Attorney.
