Complete Network Solutions (CNS) Cabling Contract (B)
explanation
We are continuing our efforts to complete the upgrade of our data and telephone cable in our facilities to support our current and future network environment and traffic. The majority of the work remaining is in our water plant and water reclamation facilities. Invitations to bid were sent by Utilities Purchasing to four prospective bidders for cable installation, with one responding. Though only one bidder was responsive, the hourly rates quoted are competitive for the market.
recommendation
The City Commission authorize the General Manager, or his designee, to execute a contract with CNS for the installation of cable subject to the approval of the City Attorney as to form and legality and approve the issuance of a purchase order in an amount not to exceed $40,000.
fiscal impact
Funds for this purchase have been included in the FY05 Information Systems Budget.
