Title
Hazardous and Perilous Lands (NB)
Explanation
The Community Development Committee has discussed the definitions in the Land Development Code regarding Hazardous Lands and Perilous Lands. Code Enforcement staff and the City Attorney's office have arrived at an interpretation that allows Code Enforcement to have overgrown lots cleared even when there is no police record of problems on the property, so long as debris on the property is evidence that the overgrown property is creating a safety hazard. This has allowed Code Enforcement to have lots cut and cleared of undergrowth in areas where nearby residents have been concerned for their safety.
Recommendation
The Community Development Committee recommends that the City Commission remove this item from the referral list as the issue has been addressed.
