Title
Historic Preservation Board Appeal of 5COA-01HPB (B)
Explanation
Gene Honeycutt has appealed the Historic Preservation Board's denial of his request for a Certificate of Appropriateness for construction of a new six-foot fence with brick piers at his residence at 634 Northeast Boulevard. The property is located in the Northeast Historic District. The petition was presented to planning staff after construction of the brick piers had been constructed and Code Enforcement had issued a stop work order. It should be noted that a building permit, windload calculations and compliance with the City's vision triangle regulation, as well as a Certificate of Appropriateness from the Historic Preservation Board, should have been obtained prior to the construction of the brick piers.
Staff recommended denial based on the City's Historic Preservation Design Standards. The Historic Preservation Board continued the item once when the petitioner did not attend the meeting and, after any failure to modify the petition, denied the application.
Recommendation
The City Commission hear the appeal.
