Title
Heritage Neighborhood Signs (NB)
Explanation
At the June 26, 2000 City Commission meeting, the City Commission adopted policies related to Heritage Neighborhood signs and identified a funding source. The adopted policy allowed the placement of Heritage Neighborhood signs in four neighborhoods (two signs per neighborhood) for the first year of implementation. An application process has been completed and four neighborhoods have been chosen to receive Heritage Neighborhood signs: Golfview, Black Acres, Sugarfoot and Hibiscus Park. A qualified application was also received from the Highland Court Manor Neighborhood, located within the Weed and Seed area. Staff has determined that Weed and Seed funds are available to fund the placement of Heritage Neighborhood signs in up to two additional neighborhoods. Staff, therefore, recommends that the City Commission allow up to two additional neighborhoods to receive Heritage Neighborhood signs this year.
Fiscal Note
Weed and Seed funds are available to fund signs for two additional neighborhoods.
Recommendation
The City Commission allow two additional neighborhoods to receive Heritage Neighborhood signs.
