This is a request for the City Commission to award the bid to Town Tire Commercial, Inc. for the annual contract for Automotive Alignment, Wheel Balancing and Tire Repair.
Explanation
The City of Gainesville's current contract for Automotive Alignment, Wheel Balancing and Tire Repair expires September 30, 2009. General Services Department staff felt it was in the City's best interest to re-bid the contract this year rather than exercise the extension clause for another year in the existing contract. On August 20, 2009, the City's Purchasing Division received (2) two bids in response to ITB # FMGT-100008-FB. Staff evaluated the bids, and the lowest/best evaluated bid meeting specifications was submitted by Town Tire Commercial, Inc. for $223,600.
Fiscal Note
Funds in the amount of $223,600 are available in the General Services Department FY2010 budget.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) award the bid to Town Tire Commercial, Inc.; 2) authorize the City Manager to execute the contract and any related documents, subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality; and 3) issue a purchase order in an amount not to exceed $223,600.
