Transportation Safety / Vision Zero Framework (B)

This item is a request for the General Policy Committee to discuss the transportation issues and transportation system safety.

Explanation

At the October 12, 2017 meeting staff provided the General Policy Committee an overview of Vision Zero strategies and recommended actions to enhance the City’s transportation system safety. This item continues the discussion and provides a status update on the Vision Zero initiative.

Fiscal Note

There is no fiscal impact associated with this discussion.

Recommendation

The General Policy Committee 1) hear a presentation; 2) direct staff to: (a) bring a Vision Zero policy to the City Commission for consideration; (b) continue to work with stakeholders; and (c) determine costs for the development of a local Vision Zero plan.
