Fleet Garage Metal Roof Replacement (B)
Explanation
The Fleet Garage Metal Roof at 39th Avenue is in need of total replacement. Plans call for replacement of the Metal Roof and the installation of six-inch white vinyl insulation over the entire roof structure. The Purchasing Division solicited bids from 323 vendors. Seven vendors responded with four vendors submitting bids and three vendors submitting no bids. APEX Design & Construction, Inc. submitted the low bid of $68,000. Since the roof is 30 years old, we are requesting a 15 percent contingency for hidden conditions. This will bring the contract price up to an amount not to exceed $78,200.

Funds were designated for this project from the GRU lease in-lease out account.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) approve the award of a contract for the replacement of the metal roof on the 39th Avenue Fleet Garage to APEX Design & Construction, Inc.; 2) authorize the City Manager, to execute the contract, subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality; and 3) authorize the issuance of a purchase order in an amount not to exceed $78,200.
