Milton Lewis Stadium at Citizens Field

Explanation

At the March 27th City Commission during Citizen's Comment, Mr. Robert  Gasche, Mr. Alan Gray and Mr. Kirby Stewart requested that the City Commission rename the stadium at Citizen's Field to the Milton Lewis Stadium at Citizens Field, in honor of a World War II Veteran who was a Gainesville Resident who was killed in action.  He also requested that the City Commission consider a historical plaque or marker to be placed at the stadium.  He would like have a dedication ceremony on Memorial Day, which is May 29, 2000. 

Recommendation

The City Commission rename the stadium at Citizens Field to the Milton Lewis Stadium at Citizens Field and authorize the City Manager to find out the cost for a sign or marker for the stadium.
