This item is to discuss the service rate policy for transit service outside Gainesville City limits.
Explanation
On May 5, 2011, the City Commission approved a new service rate policy for transit service outside the City limits. The methodology adopted did not include the proposed additional charge for future transit capital investment. The new policy results in a service rate for Alachua County of $64.88/hour for FY12 bus service in the unincorporated area.
Staff was directed to schedule a workshop to discuss future capital costs and options for funding future capital expenses and suggested that the County, the University of Florida (UF), Santa Fe College (SFC), and private sector participate in the workshop.

There is no fiscal impact.

The City Commission hear a presentation from staff.
