explanation
On September 9, 2003, the City of Gainesville and the Gainesville - Alachua County Regional Airport Authority accepted U.S.DOT FAA Grant # 3-12-0028-020-2003 in the amount of $5,175,412 for the rehabilitation of Runway 10-28. A special condition of the Grant Offer is that within 120 days of accepting the grant, GACRAA would receive bids for the rehabilitation project. The FAA has granted, via Amendment No. 1, an extension of 120 days for receiving bids for the project. The special condition is amended to read 240 days from the date of the acceptance of the Grant Offer.
GACRAA has requested that the City Commission consider approval of Amendment No. 1 at its January 12, 2004 meeting. Amendment No. 1 will be considered by GACRAA at its next regular meeting on Thursday, January 15, 2004. This approval timeline will allow GACRAA to meet the stated FAA deadline of January 19, 2004 for executing Amendment No. 1.
