Explanation

The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) allocates service development grant funds for public transit systems each year.  This Supplemental Agreement adds $83,000 for the second year of the development of the Tower Road Corridor Project.  This project is funded on a 50-50 matching basis between the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) and City of Gainesville Regional Transit system (RTS).

Fiscal Note

The local share of the program is provided by the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners.

Recommendation

The City Commission: 1) approve the resolution authorizing execution of the joint participation agreement with Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT); and 2) authorize the Mayor and Clerk of the Commission to execute the Resolution, subject to approval by the City Attorney as to form and legality.
