Resolution for Extension of Temporary Easement Along SR 26 (University Avenue) to FDOT (B)
Explanation
The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is reconstructing SR 26 (University Avenue) and SR 26-A (SW 2nd Avenue) from SW 38th Street to North-South Drive. FDOT requested, and the City Commission approved on May 12, 2003 (File No. 021069), the grant of a temporary easement for a parcel lying between SR 26 and SR 26-A and located on the south side of SR 26 for the purpose of transitioning and harmonizing driveways and walkways.
FDOT has requested that the Temporary Easement expiration date be extended to no later than July 31, 2008 to allow for anticipated work delays preventing completion of work by the original expiration date of December 31, 2006. In addition to the extension of the expiration date, FDOT has requested a lesser easement area than originally proposed.

There is no fiscal impact from this request.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) adopt the Resolution; and 2) authorize the Mayor to execute and the Clerk to attest a temporary easement to FDOT for a parcel lying between SR 26 and SR 26-A and located on the south side of SR 26 for the purpose of transitioning and harmonizing driveways and walkways along University Avenue.
