Presentation of the NW 22nd Street CIP Project (B)

This item is a request to receive a presentation of the Construction Plans for the NW 22^nd Street CIP Project from Public Works staff.

Explanation

The Public Works Department has a planned project titled NW 22^nd Street & NW 5^th Avenue Resurfacing that has been approved and funded through the CIP. The scope of work includes approximately 2,600 linear foot stretch between West University Avenue and NW 8th Avenue of NW 22nd Street and approximately 1,300 linear foot stretch of NW 5^th Avenue between NW 22^nd Street and NW 20^th Street. The work in this area is to include milling and resurfacing as well as a speed table at the intersection of NW 22nd Street and NW 5th Avenue. Sidewalks shall be brought up to ADA and Florida Greenbook standards. Curb & gutter will be reconstructed. Deficiencies in the stormwater system will also be addressed.

Fiscal Note

There is no fiscal impact at this time. The project is budgeted for a total of $1,120,000 which will begin to be incurred once construction begins.

Recommendation

The City Commission 1) accept the construction plans; and 2) authorize Public Works to complete the competitive bidding process to obtain a contractor for the construction.
