Title
Community Development Review Committee (CDRC) - Development Review Process Recommendations (B)
Explanation
The Community Development Review Committee (CDRC) was instituted by the City Commission in 2010 with a charge to "provide input on the City's development review processes provided in the Land Development Code and Comprehensive Plan and created administratively in the Department of Planning and Development Services and Gainesville Regional Utilities. The City Commission does not solicit input from the CDRC on the City Commission's growth management vision or policy preference for or against certain development types." Members were appointed to the Committee in November, 2010.
Over the past year, the Committee met monthly to review the development review process with participation from various General Government and Gainesville Regional Utilities (GRU) staff as well as interested parties from the public.
The Committee has crafted a recommendation report and requests an opportunity to share the report's conclusions with the Commission.
Staff has devised an action plan responsive to the Committee's recommendations and will be implementing it within the remainder of 2012.
Fiscal Note
No impact at this time.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) hear a report from the Committee regarding its Development Review Process Recommendations; and 2) take action as deemed appropriate.
