This item is to update the Recreation, Cultural Affairs and Public Works Committee on the Pool Visioning Committee's progress as well as the expectations and vision for the NE pool.
Explanation
On November 13, 2006, the City Commission referred this item to the Committee to hear a presentation from Mike Davidson, citizen, on the benefits of contracting out the seasonal operation of the Northeast swimming pool. This item was discussed at the Committee meeting. Staff was requested to initiate a Pool Visioning process. On November 30, 2006 the first of a series of Pool Visioning meetings was held. A team of community individuals representing many different aquatic programs were present. On January 16, 2007, City staff gave an update on the Pool Visioning team meetings and options for the Northeast pool which included the capital improvement renovations.

Recommendation
Recommended Motion: The Recreation, Cultural Affairs, and Public Works Committee: 1) hear an update regarding the Pool Visioning Committee's progress as well as the expectations and vision for the NE pool; and 2) request this item be removed from the Active Referral List.
