A Resolution of the City Commission of the City of Gainesville, Florida, in support of preserving the official designation of U.S. Highway 441 in Alachua County as the "Martin Luther King, Jr., Highway;" providing an immediate effective date.

explanation

During Commission Comment at the Regular City Commission Meeting on November 2, 2017, the City Commission directed the Office of the City Attorney to prepare a Resolution reaffirming the necessity of U.S. Highway 441 being named the Martin Luther King, Jr., Highway.  The draft Resolution and a copy of the official designation (Chapter 88-419, Laws of Florida) are provided in the back-up to this agenda item.
