Explanation
The Recreation and Cultural Affairs Committee, at its January 22, 2004 meeting, heard a presentation from the Recreation and Parks Department regarding the proposed fee structure for the FY 2004 Summer Playground program.
The Committee, after hearing the presentation by staff, recommended that this item be forwarded to the City Commission for consideration.
Fiscal Note
Staff estimates revenue of approximately $50,000 to $70,000 to be generated by the Summer Playground Program in FY 2004. Of that , $8,000 - $10,000 will need to be returned to the Aquatics Division for pool fees, since the new playground fee structure shall be inclusive of these fees.
Recommendation
The City Commission: 1) hear the Summer Program presentation; 2) approve the proposed FY 2004 Summer Playground Fee Structure; 3) direct Budget staff to establish a revenue recovery structure to return pool fees to Aquatics; and 4) authorize the City Manager, or designee, to provide additional funding for the Summer Playground Program based on the generation of additional program fees.
