This agreement would take effect January 1, 2013 and continue until December 31, 2016.
Explanation
The mission of the Domestic Highway Enforcement Task Force (DHETF) is to use collaborative intelligence to intercept contraband and drug trafficking operations that may impact Alachua County. DHETF will focus on reducing the amount of narcotics transported through and into the area, reducing drug-related crime and violence in Alachua County. This agreement would take effect January 1, 2013 and continue until December 31, 2016.
Fiscal Note
There will be a sharing of assets and forfeitures as indicated in the agreement.
Recommendation
The City Commission authorize the City Manager to enter into the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Gainesville Police Department and Alachua County Sheriff's office with review by the City Attorney's office for form and legality.
