Thelma Boltin Center Renovations Change Order Number Three (B)
Explanation
The Thelma Boltin Center is undergoing a mechanical, electrical, ADA and cosmetic renovation.
On January 24, 2000 the City Commission approved the bid award to Nelson's Engineering Services, Inc. in the amount not to exceed $400,000 for the renovations to the Thelma Boltin Center. Change orders #1 & 2 brought the total up to $412,962.47.
Change Order # 3 in the amount of $8,091.09 will bring the total up to $421,051.76. This change resulted from hidden conditions, underground and in walls, that were exposed during demolition on the women's restroom, demolition of drop ceilings and burial of underground sewer pipe. Specific changes included: 1) plumbing pipe, ceramic and floor tile, electric and a vanity top, 2) new ceiling light fixtures, receptical and wiring, and 3) construction of an air conditioning pipe chase, and 4) removal of underground concrete work.
Fiscal Note
Funds are available in the Facility Management Operating Capital account.
Recommendation
The City Commission: approve the issuance of Change Order # 3 to Nelson's Engineering Services, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $8,091.09 for the renovations to the Thelma Boltin Center.
